학과소개
유아교육과는 정부의 1980년 유아교육진흥 종합계획에 의거하여 유아교육에 관한 이론과 실제를 학문적 대상으로 하여 연구하고 나아가 국가의 장래와 인류의 발전에 기여할 수 있는 우수하고 창의적인 교사와 교육 전문가를 양성하기 위해 설치되었다.

학과의 주요 전공분야는 생태유아교육, 유아놀이 및 부모교육, 아동발달심리, 유아교육평가 및 연구방법, 유아교사교육 및 예술교육, 유아교육과정 이며, 유아교육학의 보다 심도있는 연구의 기반이 될 이론 및 실제를 중심으로 교과 과정이 구성·운영되고 있다.

1995년에 보육종합센터가 건립되어 하위기관으로 부산대부설어린이집, 보육교사교육원, 보육운영지원실, 어린이상담실이 본 학과와의 연계하에 운영되고 있다. 2008년부터는 부산고등법원의 직장보육시설로 설립된 부산법원어린이집을 위탁운영하고 있으며, 2010년부터는 양산부산대학병원의 직장보육시설도 운영하고 있다. 학부 및 대학원 졸업생 들 중 다수가 부산대부설어린이집과 부산법원어린이집 및 다수의 위탁운영기관에 종사하고 있다.

The Department of Early Childhood Education was established based on the government’s 1980 Comprehensive Plan for the Promotion of Early Childhood Education. Its purpose is to study both the theory and practice of early childhood education as an academic discipline, and to cultivate outstanding and creative teachers and education experts who can contribute to the future of the nation and the development of humanity.

The department’s main fields of specialization include ecological early childhood education, early childhood play and parent education, child developmental psychology, early childhood education assessment and research methods, early childhood teacher education and arts education, and early childhood curriculum. The curriculum is designed and operated with a focus on theory and practice as the foundation for more in-depth research in early childhood education.

In 1995, the Childcare Comprehensive Center was established, which operates in affiliation with the department and includes the PNU-affiliated Childcare Center, the Childcare Teacher Education Institute, the Childcare Support Office, and the Child Counseling Center. Since 2008, the department has also been entrusted with the operation of the Busan Court Childcare Center, established as a workplace childcare facility at the Busan High Court. In 2010, the department began operating the workplace childcare facility at Yangsan PNU Hospital as well. Many of the department’s undergraduate and graduate alumni are currently employed at the PNU-affiliated Childcare Center, the Busan Court Childcare Center, and other entrusted childcare institutions.
